What are the complications after EVLT?

Remarkably few. The commonest complication is inflammation that lasts a couple of weeks, but very few patients get this more than mildly. We expect patients to feel hard lumps initially where veins have been treated. These disappear over time, and a 6 week checkup sometimes involves relieving 'blood trapping' to help lumps go more quickly. Light brown marking in the leg at the site of previous varicose veins is not uncommon, but it is very rarely extensive or of a greater cosmetic concern than the veins were before treatment. The marks do fade away over time but this can take many months. 

Can I get a Deep Vein Thrombosis after EVLT?

Theoretically anyone can get a DVT after any surgical procedure. However, the risk of DVT after EVLT is very low (less than 1 in 400).
